Currently developing into the 4th generation of the lumber industry, the Weaver family legacy started with John Weaver who purchased his first shingle mill in 1904 at the age of 14 years old. He can be seen in the picture in the background on the far left.

In 1989, John's Son, Wesley Weaver founded Oakcrest Lumber Inc along with his twin sons Roland and Russell Weaver. Oakcrest is a family owned company that has dedicated itself to excellence in production as well as customer service. The Weaver family is very hands on in the day to day operations of the company and has surrounded themselves with quality competent employees to help make Oakcrest what it is today. The sawmill has seen numerous upgrades in equipment and expansion over the years.

In 2005 and 2006 the company expanded the dry kiln capacity in Buena Vista, Georgia and built the unfinished flooring operation.  In 2008, Oakcrest expanded with a new location housing a new drying facility in Newport, TN.  It is strategically located with easy access to Interstate 40 and is in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, which is known for its abundance of high quality hardwood lumber.

Recently, in 2017 the vision became reality with the addition of high quality unfinished engineered flooring in the Newport Location.

Backed by years of experience, Oakcrest Lumber remains invested in its integrity and commitment to serve this industry and is looking forward to the years to come.
